Yard Sale Update and plans for Wednesday....

We did fairly well at the Yard Sale, here are my assessments and stats for the day:

~Kids made $26 selling lemonade, cookies and brownies.  That was a good idea to have that!
~We sold a lot of stuff.
~ We could have another yard sale next weekend.
~ We didn't sell things I thought we would.
~ We bought a grill from another person's yardsale in our neighborhood.
~We tried to see ours.  $45 if anyone wants it.
~We have a large number of stuffed animals still (which I figured) but 1/2 of them went, which SHOCKED me.
~We sold mini grab bags of McDs toys and other random stuff...they actually sold!
~Somethings I hope I don't regret getting rid of....but it was never even touched and I'm sure there will be other toys that are more appropriate for the kids
~I couldn't believe the kids manned the lemonade stand the whole time.
~we had friends come!  YAY.
~People get to Yard Sales, extremely early!  LIKE 6 when it starts at 7, people told me this, I tried to tell Hubby, I'm not sure he believed how early, until they came!  Crazy Person.
~Didn't sell an old camera of Hubby's, plan to put film in and use it up this week....

TODAY~

I PLAN ON PACKING.  UGH!

what's your plans today?

Haven't been up to much

I see that I haven't blogged in the past few days....

Check out my boss...he's amazing!  The second post is a dear friend of ours and their beautiful family!  I love these photos, so inspiring...thinking of getting out there and taking photos after my yard sale on Saturday.

Speaking of Yard Sale, we are in the mode man.  Making signs, pricing things and condensing, and I have 1/2 a mind to put it out there and say FREE take it....because I feel like we have nothing but junk.  But you know someone's junk is another man's treasure.....if someone finds their hidden treasure in our stuff well GREAT!  So if you live in Lynchburg and you are around on Saturday from 7am-12noon come on by, we'd love to see you and hang, plus I forgot to mention, it's a NEIGHBORHOOD yard sale, with 12 families involved!  So you never know there just might be something to treasure.  And my kids are having a lemonade stand  with cookies, brownies and lemonade for sale, at least come support their "I want to have some spending money in Vermont fund!"

We are going to Vermont in a little less then two weeks, I CAN'T WAIT!

Let me know what you think of Adam's work...and I'll be sure to post pre-yard sale pics and post! :)

Wanting to expand on ART....

through photography.  I have been so inspired by the recent discovery of this camera: It's the Holga 35mm, a plastic camera whose pictures truly put off this "dream-like" state....sounds fun....  And look how cool

And I also found hubby's old flash......
Oh and who knew, I actually am a bonafide scrapbooker!  See below...

Summer Reading had me a blast.......

So Monday and Yesterday began my 2 hour pool duty. Where I go to the pool for 2 hours, the kids play like crazy, and because it's still too cold for me I sit on a chair and read. Yesterday I would've liked to have gotten in, I was sweating to death in the almost 90 degree weather, but I had a mole removed, so apparently you can't swim for 24 hours when that happens.  So I was "forced" to lounge and read.  I try to bring non-thinking books to the pool, so that I can concentrate on the kids, and so that I don't have to read the same paragraph 5 times after looking up every time the kids say, "Mom, watch!"
Which leads to me what I am reading...it's good, quick, beachy type read, although sad, but unusually I'm finding my self very connected to this character and her thought life...so I love it.

If you haven't read it, pick it up and let me know what you think...if you have, let me know what you think.   I'm struck by her open thoughts, she is telling her sister at least exactly what she was thinking about...EXACTLY....I don't do that.  If I honestly think about it, I don't want people to know exactly what I am thinking, but when you are faced with a tragedy as this character was, your thoughts become your guilt and so when you have nothing left to loose I guess you'd say exactly what you were thinking...but not everyone is hearing her thoughts....it hits home how true that is, you still can't tell everyone exactly what's going on in your mind, for fear of hurt, rejection, lonliness, that'd you'd hurt them, heartbrokenness, anger, etc.

How much do you keep to yourself on a daily basis?

Updating you with pictures...

Since Easter....wow it's been awhile since I've blogged so I'll list life stuff:

~Bees has finished up gymnastics and now is playing Tball....I'm not sure what she liked more, but I'm thinking of looking into dance for the fall

~We have reintroduced "Friday Cheers" at our house, I love opening our home to friends and neighbors it's so fun to get to know people, relax, play games and have fun!

~I went up for my friend Michelle's wedding shower!  I'm so excited for her, she's married now and she's so happy, her hubby is great and she really deserves all these great things that are happening to her, she's waited a long time.

~My friend Laura and I went to Garden Day.  A day in April several homes are open to the public, that are beautifully decorated and have wonderful eye candy to look at.  And by eye candy I'm meaning FLOWERS!

~I had a Jeans/Jewelry show at my house, there were 15 girls, we had fun trying on all sorts of jewelry and then I got free jewelry.  It was a lot of fun!

~Mother's Day was pretty lovely!  Mom came to visit the first part of the weekend and then the kids and I had a wonderful Sunday, cleaning out the attic, having yummy dinner, and taking photos on the front lawn.

~Matthew and Konner went and visited his parents for the weekend and had fun.  Konner even got to drive a back hoe!  I had a scrapbooking date with my friend Carrie, strawberry picking with the Grants and Brandi and a graduation party to attend!

~And last but not least I attended the wedding of the year in Maryland, and watched Michelle and Brandon get married!  It was really great!

We've been extremely busy!  I feel like these last two months have actually been November/December minus the cold weather and excessive eating.  I finally am ready for summer I think.  On Friday, Munchkin graduates kindergarten!  With a ceremony and everything.  It'll be super cute, I of course will take lots of pictures.  And then beginning next week....it's all pool, work on Tuesdays and Thrusdays still, relaxing, sleeping in, some traveling....but it'll officially be SUMMER!  Now if it could only stop raining, I'd be good to go.

Looking forward to:

~sleeping in
~walking on the trail/Rivermont
~laying out by the pool watching the kids with a good book
~going to visit good friends in Philly
~going to Vermont
~having a mother/daughter weekend with my mom
~relaxing
~camp
~going to Atlanta
~going to Philly again!
~school shopping (I know...but I do love school shopping)

What are you looking forward to this summer?

Easter

I think we should celebrate this holiday like we celebrate Christmas...we are missing out on the joys this holiday brings.  Indelible grace.  My soul is hungry.  My heart is hurting.  My body is desiring change.  I am scared.  Scared to feel anymore then I already do....

and yet,

"Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom."

He'll feed my soul.  He'll heal my heart.  He'll change me.  He'll relieve the suffering.  He'll allow me to feel enough but remind me how much I am loved and that he already suffered the ultimate pain.  I'm resting, resting....and although scared and anxious, I know the Lord has lead me to this place.

Happy late Easter.  Here are some photos of our days together....

Another quote I will leave you with:

"The best is yet to come....and it's better then you think and the better you know how good it is going to be the freer you are!" -Mike Sharrett
